March 7 @ 11:00 am - 1:30 pm $50.00

Join us for a delicious lunch buffet on Friday, March 7th to celebrate International Women’s Day at The GrandWay! While you enjoy your meal, you’ll get to hear from Mandi Fields, Founder of Tampon Tuesday and innovative, results-driven change maker locally and nationally! She will share how Tampon Tuesday came about and what impact it has made in our surrounding communities. Mandi will be joined by her good friend Anneke Donkers-Stickney, from Egg Farmers Ontario. She is a young entrepreneur making waves within the Poultry Industry. She is deeply connected within local farming initiatives and supports many local causes, such as Tampon Tuesday alongside Mandi.

Mandi will chat about her involvement in Tampon Tuesday and the program’s importance and impact on anyone who uses feminine hygiene products.

Anneke Donkers-Stickney is a second generation egg farmer from Elora Ontario and a proud mother to 4 boys. After obtaining a business degree and gaining a decade of experience in financing, Anneke returned back to her roots to take over the family egg farm. To kick start her career, Anneke participated in the Egg Farmers of Canada national young farmer program. After the completion of the program, Anneke transitioned the laying barn into an enriched housing system. When Anneke is not managing the books, barns or raising her four sons she is giving back to her community. As part of the Egg Farmers of Ontario egg donation program, Anneke coordinated the donation of hard boiled eggs to local school breakfast clubs and farm fresh eggs to local food banks and community groups. Anneke also lends her time supporting local initiatives, including Tampon Tuesday, Fergus Fall Fair Agriculture Education section, Volunteering at local events and supporting other local farmers. Anneke’s experience and positive attitude lead to her being awarded the Top 4 under 40 poultry producers in Canada.
